"Years ago I remember sitting in my doctors office waiting for him to come in. On his wall he had a painting titled The Flower Vendor by Diego Rivera. While completely different from the kind of artwork I would normally be into, this piece just spoke to me. It reminded me of my mom, her struggles and where she came from, which ultimately is where I come from. It's been years since I've studied that painting or even looked it up. When I create artwork as a response to something which inspires me, I never keep a reference of that work near me. I want to create from a place which only pulls the parts of the work which stuck with me the most when I saw the piece. Recently this idea found me again and I decided to finally create my vision inspired by the Flower Vendor " - Dope
